Welcome to Eclectic Evolution Counseling!

Here at EEC is where the journey to your authentic self & your healing begins…

Eclectic: deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad & diverse range of sources

Evolution: a process of change in a certain direction; the process of working out or developing; a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state: GROWTH

The goal is to help you evolve into your authentic self & grow to a higher, better state through the use of eclectic methods that are catered to fit you.

What we offer here:

Our motto at EEC is “Mate Masie” which is the saying for an Adinkra symbol that translates to “What I hear, I keep.” The symbol represents four linked ears, which serves to remind us of the importance of listening & communicating, especially in oral histories & cultures. It symbolizes understanding through good judgement, & the portrayal of wisdom & knowledge through such understanding & awareness.

EEC is a fully inclusive practice that supports, loves & prioritizes those who are marginalized, specifically BIPOC & LGBTQ+ & especially those who rest at multiple intersections. We adamantly advocate for & promote equality & equity here.

A Virtual Practice

EEC is a virtual practice which means we provide our services by Telehealth-only. Since 2020 the world has finally seen just how productive Telehealth online services can be. You will be able to form the same type of therapeutic relationship that is formed in-person, but from the comfort of home (or any other secure space you feel safe in).

Meet Ashley

  • Ashley Fennell, M.A., LPCC, NCC

  • Ashley is the owner & lead clinician here at EEC. She holds an M.A. in Counseling from Wake Forest University and is an LPCC in the state of Colorado. Ashley is also a nationally certified counselor.

Her goal in counseling is to help people discover their authentic self while learning to manage life’s ups and downs. Ashley has worked with a variety of populations and she specifically wants to ensure that space is given to those in marginalized groups and those who hold multiple intersections.

Ashley works from an eclectic theoretical framework that combines Womanist, Narrative, Adlerian, Cognitive and Existential therapies. She will use varying techniques from these theories such as assertiveness training, power/gender-role analysis, self-exploration/examination, style of life analysis, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, journaling, etc. Your work with Ashley will be tailored to your level of comfort and willingness.

Aside from EEC, Ashley is also co-owner and co-host of The Clinical Cookout; a mental health podcast whose goal is to bring mental health awareness and education to marginalized communities.

Ashley is also a military spouse and mom of four.
